Nicholas Wijnberg - Chief Executive Officer
Nick is a senior from New York, New York. He is a History major. Last summer he worked for Goldman Sachs in their Securities Sales and Trading rotational program. When he isn’t obsessing over the markets, Nick enjoys tennis, fishing, hiking and playing chess. Last year he served as Vice President of Trading and has been a member of the CSIA since inception. nswijnbe@colby.edu
Nicholas Van Niel – Chief Financial Officer
Nicholas is a senior from Newton, Massachusetts. He is pursuing a major in Economics and Mathematics with a minor in Chinese language. He is a recipient of the Charles A. Dana scholarship for academic excellence. His experience in finance stems from his internship at UBS Wealth Management. Nicholas is the longest-tenured Board member, having been with the CSIA Board since 2007. Nicholas has previously served as Vice President of Internal Communications and Vice President of Portfolio Management. Nicholas is looking to pursue a job in economic consulting after graduation in May 2010.
Ken Cramer – Director of Trading
Ken is a senior from New Canaan, CT and is pursuing a major in Economics with a minor in Mathematics. He joined the CSIA’s trading group in 2008. Ken’s finance experience includes courses at Tuck’s Summer Bridge Program, an internship at a small hedge fund and a summer analyst position at Barclays Capital. Outside of classes, Ken works at Student Computer Services, plays squash and is a teaching assistant in the Economics department.
John Abbett – Director of Portfolio Management
John is a senior from Minneapolis, MN and is studying Environmental Studies Policy and Administrative Science. He has been with CSIA since its inception in 2007. John has gained experience working at the Private Bank in Minneapolis as part of the Wells Fargo Wealth Management Group as well as with nonprofits.
Robin Daley – Director of Strategy
Robin is a senior from Bar Harbor, ME, and is majoring in Economics with a concentration in Financial Markets. Last summer he interned with Piper Jaffray as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst in New York City. At Colby, Robin works for various Professors in the Economics Department as a Teaching Assistant as well as a Research Assistant.
Peter O’Hanlon – Director
Peter O’Hanlon is a junior from Garden City, NY and is an Economics-Mathematics major and Administrative Science minor. Over the past two years, Peter has had internships at Fieldpoint Private Bank & Trust in Greenwich, CT working with their Wealth Management division. Outside of the classroom, Peter devotes his time to running iPlay, Colby College’s intramural sports program. His interests include skiing, baseball, tennis, and New York sports.
Traver Elder – Director of External Communications
Traver Elder is a senior from Avon, CT and is pursuing a major in Economics with an Administrative Science minor. She has interned at Fidelity Capital Markets for the past two summers working in the Prime Brokerage division. Last January semester, Traver interned at Jennison Associates in NY as a research analyst. This is her second year on the CSIA executive board.
Simran Jaising – Director of Internal Communications
Simran Jaising ‘12 is a Posse Foundation Scholar majoring in International Studies and minoring in Women’s Gender & Sexuality Studies. As the Director of Internal Communications for the Colby Student Investment Association, Simran hopes to build on the community within the organization and to make C.S.I.A. appealing to students of all majors because she believes that CSIA fosters a first-hand understanding of the investing world that most students will not have the opportunity to explore in college. In addition to being a Director of C.S.I.A, Simran is a Residential Advisor, a representative on her Student Government’s Class Council, and a member of the Pugh Community Board of Multicultural Affairs. Last summer, Simran interned as a Public Company Liability Insurance Underwriter for The Travelers Companies in New York City.
